Corpus Christi

Corpus Christi is located on the Gulf of Mexico and is the 2nd most popular vacation area in Texas. It lays behind the barrier islands of Padre, and Mustang and is the main entry to the Padre Island National Seashore which is only 15 minutes away. This region, commonly called “The Isles of Texas”, is a major attraction for both residents and tourists alike.

The city is home to the Port of Corpus Christi, the 5th largest port in the nation and is served by the Corpus Christi International Airport.  As of the 2010 Census, there were 305,215 people residing in Corpus Christi.

The median income for a family was $41,672. Males had a median income of $31,863 versus $22,616 for females. The per capita income for the city was $17,419. About 14.1% of families and 17.6% of the population were below the poverty line, including 22.9% of those under age 18 and 15.5% of those age 65 or over.
