Fort Stewart

Fort Stewart is in western Georgia’s coastal region. It is the official home to the 3rd Infantry Division.  It covers the counties of Bryan, Liberty, Long and Tattnall.  Fort Stewart is the largest Army installation east of the Mississippi River.  It covers over 280,000 acres.  It’s located near two deep water ports, Savannah, GA and Charleston S.C.  Due to its close proximity to the ocean as well as nearby communities there are many excellent recreational opportunities to be had here both for residents and visitors.

History abounds in the way of historic battlefields and forts from almost every century and are within minutes of Fort Stewart.  Both the Revolutionary and Civil Wars are represented.  If you are in need of a bigger city environment Savannah is only a short drive away.
