University Place
University Place is located in Piece County, Washington and has nearly 31,000 residents. It is approximately 50 miles south of Seattle in the beautiful Puget Sound region of western Washington. University Place got its name in the late 1800's after a new university was being sought for the area. After difficult financial concerns the plans fell through, but the name, "that University Place" stuck. The town however has thrived and has become a community proud of its history and continuing quality of life. This area is well known for its lush forests and outdoor sports and family attractions due mainly to the nearby Olympic Mountain ranges, Mt Rainier and its location on Puget Sound.
