Pierre, South Dakota

Pierre is the capital of South Dakota, a state of the United States of America. As of the 2000 census, it has a population of 13,876. Pierre is the county seat of Hughes County. The Pierre area is a beautiful place to live and work. Our wonderful little community is located "on the river" where that is more than just a geographic statement. The Missouri River, with the Oahe Dam, offers two spectacular lakes for boating, sailing, swimming and the finest freshwater fishing anywhere. Being the state capital, we have a lot of history, culture, shopping, a hands-on science center, museums, and wonderful restaurants and motels, which will provide fun activities for all ages.
