Lakeville Township was founded 1858 and a town called Lakeville, not far away, was incorporated in 1878. With a steady growth these two areas were able merge to become the City of Lakeville in 1967. Since then, Lakeville has grown from a small rural community to a dynamic suburban city where residents work together to meet the challenges facing them today and in the future.
