Island of Kauai, Hawaii

The island of Kauai is known as the garden island. Roughly circular in shape, it covers 552 square miles of land, making it the fourth-largest in the island chain of Hawaii. Kauai is an island of contrasts - the gentle, rolling countryside; jagged, forbidding mountains; magnificent canyons, desert-like sand dunes, and Mt. Waialeale, the wettest spot on earth. The beautiful island of Kauai is the oldest and northern most of the major islands that form the state of Hawaii. The official flower of Kauai is the Mokihona (Green Berry). The weather in Hawaii average 85 degrees and does not change much from day to night.
