Port Charlotte is in Charlotte County, Florida on the southwestern region of Florida's coast. Port Charlotte is an unincorporated city that has a population of over 60,000 residents. About 43% of the county's citizens are within the 55+ age group.

There are many parks and recreational areas here, 28 marinas and over 12 miles of Gulf coast beaches. The Charlotte Harbor estuary is considered the most beautiful and unpolluted estuary in Florida.
